![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Our SOAR volunteers have all participated in the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors peer supporter training program to enable them to provide personal support as our patients recover from traumatic injury. The group, provided by The Burn Center, is run by a physical or occupational therapist with the participation of SOAR (Survivors Offering Assistance in Recovery) volunteers who are burn survivors themselves. Services: A self-help program for relatives of a person diagnosed with a serious mental illness. All burn patients and their families are encouraged to participate. The William Randolph Hearst Burn Center at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell. Participants include inpatients as well as patients that have been discharged from the hospital. The Mission of Burns Recovered Support Group is to help every burn survivor live life to the fullest without limitations, fear, or insecurity. It typically meets the fourth Thursday of each month. The Susan Fischer Burn Peer Support Group is a meeting place and supportive network for burn patients and their families. ![]()
